OS: HI-LO, REVISITED

Today's post is about dressing for the space between. The space between school drop-off and a quick coffee meeting or catch-up. The space between being dressed, yet not feeling overdressed. The space between being comfortable and feeling polished.

As some of you will know, when I first started my brand in 2017 it was called Hi-Lo the Label. A literal love letter to creating beautiful clothing combinations that were polished to wear just about anywhere. Removing the idea that you had one look for this and one look for that. Unless you were in the gym, or a tropical climate, the pieces I created could adapt to the lifestyle of my clients. And that was the important part, to their lifestyle, I wasn't here to make assumptions that everyone was living the same day to day but I did want to create some inspiration and thought provocation around investing in pieces that were versatile, that offered a point of view, and that you felt amazing in.

I don't like to assume a formula, but I do like to challenge myself to work within the confines of less is more, to see what's possible to create. Today's blog is about working within one colour palette to create three ideas to inspire elements of your lifestyle, whether that means being on the road for work, or needing a vibe to see you through being front-facing into the next thing, a function, a dinner, a school show.

I've included links below, no affiliates, and I've built an extra board of the elements I reach for to add P for personality to my minimal, tailored style. Now to the three.

1.THE DROP-OFF THAT BECOMES A COFFEE.

Chocolate Knit, Powder Blue Knit, Fuzzy Jacket, Espresso Boyfriends, Sneakers, Earrings.

2. A LUNCH THAT DESERVES A LITTLE MORE.

Charcoal Coat, Shirt, Wide Leg Leather Pants (back in stock soon), Pumps, Belt.

3.THE FULL DAY AT THE DESK.

Cape, Tunic, Cigarette Pant, Fringed Cape, Flats, Necklace.

Everything above is my minimal, tailored base. This is where I add P for personality on top. Denim always, a texture, a colour, a metallic, and a great pair of glasses. They do not need to be expensive. These are the fail-safe, battle-tested ways I inject a layer on top for that extra something.

Beanie, Glasses, Denim Shirt, Silver Pouch, Beaded Necklace, Fringed Scarf.

Pick one. Pick two on a brave day. The base stays calm and the layer on top says the thing.

Three ideas, one palette, none of it saved for best. That was always the whole idea, back when it had another name.
