OS: NOT QUITE AUTUMN
THE SEASON HASN'T TURNED YET. THE LIST HAS.
I won’t lie, the lingering Summer weather feels like a guest that’s overstayed its welcome, and I’m not mad about it.
At home in the Macedon Ranges, this Autumn has overflowed with warm, sunny days, blazing leaves, and just enough of a temperature drop to justify an evening fire. Cooler days are on the horizon, hello next week’s forecast, and the outfit tab in my mind is working overtime on the looks I’ll be building this Winter.
SQUARE ONE
Since travelling to Tokyo in September, I’ve had checks bookmarked. I’m drawn to tones I wouldn't usually reach for, but that read as part of the outfit rather than the point of it. I have the Matteau shirt saved as a natural companion to our Navy leather and dark denim, but I’ll do one more pass through pre-loved and vintage before committing. I’ll keep you posted.

THE LONG GAME
My boots need an upgrade, and I have a clear picture in mind. Knee-length, to wear with our Cigarette Pant, re-stocking in June, and oversized knitwear, layered over skirts or shorts, but still slim enough to sit under a wide-leg jean. Cuban heel, softly pointed toe, matte black. The Proenza boots are in front, with the Isabel Marants close behind.

THE DETAIL
My wardrobe is quite pared back, so I rely on accessories to build depth. I picked up a long pendant necklace in Tokyo that I’ve been wearing on repeat. It shifts everything just enough, adding weight and focus to otherwise simple layers.
Now I’m looking for something to wear with my new leather bomber jacket, something along the lines of this silk, ocean-like flower (thanks for the inspiration). I’ll also be rolling the sleeves to let the leopard lining show through.
Lastly, I’ll be adding a vintage scarf to my collection. I love it tied over the shoulders of a leather bomber, or fastened at the back of a trench coat.

A few considered pieces, building quietly, ready for when the season turns.
